Question on Music files
posted on: 2/25/2005 4:22:48 PM

Hello, My friends and I want to know about the music files and uploading them. We tried to upload a midi file onto our main page. But only one person (the one who downloaded and then uploaded the file) is the only one able to hear it. All others are not able to. Can you help? Or is it in the web hosting from the file?

Thanks ^_^

You need to upload your midi file to a web hosting server that will allow you to play it elsewhere besides thier own server.

When uploading it, did you link it to a path on the C:\ drive (or any other drive for that matter)? If so, it's searching for the file on your own computer, and not finding it, hence why it won't play it. If however it's linking to an http:// address, then I know not what may be the problem.

After you do what Sharky told you, try using this code in your Header or Footer (whichever you prefer).

I'm not a guru but I spent some time fine tuning mine on my own and this is what I came up with, works great.

<EMBED SRC="http://YOUR HOSTED FILE INFO HERE" HIDDEN=false AUTOSTART=true>

I have hidden as false so users can disable the sound if they want.
