Quote | Reply | | besides the moderator..who else has access ability posted on: 4/9/2003 9:41:02 AM I had someone make this board for me ...they made the initial page and set up the forum..I told them i didnt like the fact they could get into the control section to delete things or make changes I would not authorize.They assured me when they changed the name and gave me the password ..when I changed password they would not be able to get into control pannel again...but I find that several of the posts were deleted yesterday ..and I didnt delete them...can someone help? |

replied on: 4/9/2003 9:59:11 AM Who changed the name and password? If it was you, did you use a password that couldn't be guessed. When you changed those things, did you make sure that the email addy is your's and not thiers? Because if it's thiers then they can request the password and it will be sent to the email that's on the account, and theyn they would have access. This is how deleting goes. The owner of the society can do anything of course. Then it goes Moderators of each forum can delete, move, edit, close, and open threads on the forums they have moderator rights to. Then of couse the owner of the thread itself has rights to delete it if they posted it by mistake and didn't mean to. I have in my plans to show who deleted the thread in the future. |

I logged off ..and clicked the smily face that said create your own society..then put in user name and password and checked profile ..it was me of course ..and the same email addy I just gave you ...so how did they get into it ..if I didnt tell them the password?to delete posts? and if i leave the email as it is and change the password again will that eliminate the problem.. changes name to ..Pain in the keister.(LoL) Thanks |
