As long as your society isn't doing anything wrong, then you are ok.

Thanks. I figured she was, I don't see why Sharky would either, but I have become ultra paranoid over this chick.

At the end of the day, only you as the society owner or Sharky (since he owns ChatArea) can have it shut down, and I see no reason why Sharky would. She's just doing this to stir up trouble.

I have a question about banning a member. I used to have a site at onther place and I had a member who caused a lot of problems. I have just opened a new forum here and I have already found she has joined twice under different names and emails, I found her IP was the same so I banned both members. Now I find out she is calling other members and saying that I can't ban her and that she will have my forums shut down. My question is...can she do this? I really don't think she can, otherwise what's the sense of the banning option? But I am paranoid as this person is really really crazy. Sorry for the long story. Thanks.

I can't be 100% sure, but it did show the same IP in the members' list. So I assume he's using the same computer.

Just wondering; it's not a big problem to ban him ever now and then, might even be good since it makes me feel omnipotent

Are you sure it was the same ip? he could very well be using a proxy...

If he continues i'm sure Dann will do something about it...

I recently banned a troll by the name of nigelfoo, by IP and e-mail.
Today, he had registered under the name of evil_spirit, from the same IP, and posted on the board (http://www.chatarea.com/DarkFuckingMetalForum).

Does IP-banning only apply to that one user account, or anyone trying to access my forum from that IP-address?

Thanks in advance for an answer,
J.
