Hash code banning?
replied on: 8/22/2006 11:35:45 AM How much of an issue would it be to incorperate a "ban by hash" option into the forums? Considering ban by email/IP isnt exactly the best form of banning considering a lot of people know how to change their IP etc to get around bans. i see its been an issue for some time when banning's concerned. So why not ban by PC, along side the IP/email bans. Every pc is as individual as a fingerprint... a hash from what i gather goes on the signature codes each pc generates upon connection to the net, something that cant really be changed without getting a new pc or at least, complete new insides for the pc. just a thought. |
