This timeframe now appears to be too optimistic. The processor and the graphics card are still not in my possession, and I don't have a clear idea when these two things will be in. The processor is the lesser of the two worries now, as if I don't get it this week, then I should have it next week. The graphics card however, is another matter. As you can probably imagine, the ATI X800 Pro is a very popular, and also very new piece of equipment. As such, the demand for it seems to be outstripping the available supply. I am having a devil of a time trying to find an e-tailer that has one in stock at a good price. I am currently on order with eCost for $359, but they don't expect to have the cards in stock until at least the 31st of the month. All other places that I have checked are more expensive. Ugh, so the wait continues... Bottom line is that I really don't know when I am going to get this computer up and running, and hence I don't have a firm time as to when I'll be back in game. Stroker's gonna be out for a while too, so is Chente. i guess maybe it would be best to finnish enjoying the rest of the summer then regroup in Sept? maybe thats whats best for everone cause it seems that everyone is still busy. do what you can. thx for keeping in touch. need to go over some details with you for the transition bud. let me know when and where. hooya

replied on: 9/5/2004 10:57:51 AM 9/5/2004 Hey all, Big update info today. As of last week, all of my computer parts are now in. I built the computer over the past couple of nights, and it is now complete and working.  I am currently in the latter phases of the build, which means installing/updating remaining software and drivers. I should be good to go (fully operational and back in game) by the end of the night, or tomorrow...  Hooya! -age-- |
