Been a while since I've been to chatarea. I thought I'd look in to see what you've done to your forums...

You got a nice web site. You can get reviews on it at www.tutorialforums.com. It'll probably get low because they can get VERY picky, but hey, maybe you'll get some tips. I've sure learned a lot since I read some of their reviews, lol.
---
Take a look at my web design site. I just made it for a bit of fun several months back, no real purpose behind it. Be funny if someone actually wanted my services, lol. The URL is www.createdsea.com/tekw3

It's coded with XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS. The layout was made in Paint Shop Pro 7.0 (I can't afford Photoshop... I could get a pirated version, but that's not nice so I'll stick with PSP for now, lol)

I noticed you use HTML 4.01 along with a bit of CSS when I looked at your site's source. Nice start, maybe you ought to try converting it to XHTML - shouldn't be hard at all.
---
See ya around and good luck with your web site. If I ever get the $700 needed for Photoshop CS, I'll start making some really kick butt designs - right now I can't do much with PSP. Oh well. Cya for now.

P.S. (Sorry for being a butt-head a while back when you closed your forums... I just wanted something to do, lol)

lol I tried the google search. To bad my sites didn't do that, lol. I haven't really bothered to do any search engine submissions. For a while there, createdsea.com was getting over 500 visitors a day, but I quit submitting to search engines and my traffic went bye bye, lol.

Yeah for my TEK w3 Designs I just used simple CSS controled tables controlled by an external style sheet. Rather simple really, nothing too special. If you look in my portfolio, you'll see a site "STK Sqaud" (URL: www.geocities.com/stkdf2). What I did there was I used DIVS instead of tables, controlled fully by CSS. A little more advanced, but fun too work on.

If I ever get Photoshop, I have a good idea on how TEK w3 version 2 is going to look. It would, however, also require Macromedia Flash - so version two is a ways off. But I do know how I would want it to look, and if I can do it, it'll look pretty awesome.

I'm going to be getting a new computer soon. It'll probably be something around a P4 2.66 GHZ, 512mb RAM, 128mb GeFORCE FX 5200... something along that line. Maybe once I get it I'll save up for Photoshop and Flash, then I'll get back into extreme web design, lol.

Anyways, about your nav bar - maybe some rollovers would be cool.......

Anyways, cya for now.

there are roll overs, you jut have to wait for the images to load, just keep your mouse over them

Ahh I see that now. I have dial up so it doesn't load it instantly.

You can avoid that by using a pre-load images script.

If you look at www.createdsea.com/tekw3 you'll see the pre-load images script in the <head></head> and in the <body> tag - feel free to take it and customize it to match your image sources/urls. Just copy the pre-load images script and copy the <body> tag and customize them a bit - I don't care.

Using a script like, or similar to that should fix the problem for anyone who's browser supports javascript. I found that particular script to be the most effecient when it comes to rollovers - it's also easy to use.

On your site, the images load when they are needed - and they are only needed when your mouse moves over the buttons. That can create a problem as it can take a second or two to load the mouse over images, depending on your connection speed. Using a preload images script will download the roll-over images as the page is loading, so when you move your mouse over the button the images will already be in your browser's cache.
