myredpt Quote \| Reply \|	Tape Marks on '01 & '02 Bumpers posted on: 3/11/2006 5:09:43 AM I was at the body shop yesterday picking up MYREDPT and I asked the owner about the tape marks that show up on the earlier PTs and he said all you have to do it hit the bumnper with a heat gun and it will bring up the oils in the plastic and the marks will go away. I do not have those bumpers so I can't try it but I thought I would pass it along. Not sure how long the fix would work and I would be very careful not to melt the bumper but someone might want to give it a try.

myredpt Quote \| Reply \|	Tape Marks on '01 & '02 Bumpers replied on: 3/11/2006 8:09:04 AM I had not heard of it before but he said like it was a fact, no hesitation at all. he did a great job fixing my little scratch, I was worried about matching the Inferno Red since it is a 3 step paint but it looks good.

Any type of plastic or rubber body parts need to have a flex additive added so the paint won't crack or flake.

When I found out that the bumper covers are one piece and had to be taped, while I just thought this was going to be a pain, and it was. Did the rear Tuesday and the front yesterday. I just hope that it lasts.
