St Patricks day Parade
replied on: 3/6/2007 7:59:02 AM Had the parade meeting last night in Woodbridge. Ray, Gabe and I attended. This is a candy event, nothing said about throwing candy, and its RAIN or shine. If you are not going to the parade if it does rain, the diner afterward is still on. We can't back out of the hall rental or food that is ordered. I plan on being there rain or shine, less some decorations of course if there is some light rain.. The meal is planned for about 330, figuring we are in the last group to go. P"arade starts 130 promptly and all UNITS (us) are to be reaky to go by 1pm. After that if you are running late you may have trouble getting to the staging area if you don't know your way around town. |

replied on: 3/6/2007 12:09:39 PM This will be Doris and my first St. Patrick's Day Parade. We participated in the Christmas Parade last December and assembled behind the school next to the library. This sounds like there is a different assembly point for St. Patty's. Is that correct? I'll use your suggestion about plugging the address into Mapquest, but Mapquest has failed me before. replied on: 3/6/2007 1:14:10 PM Yes the staging area for St Patty's Day is different. If you are taking the turnpike I suggest you get off at exit 10 in Edison. stay left after the toll and head for rte 287. as you round the bend, stay to the right and u will see the sign for Woodbridge (rte 514). That is Woodbridge Ave and turns into Main Street as you go toward Woodbridge. 10 lights turn Left, after the 3rd light u will see Mauro Motors on the left and Angelo's Pizz on the the right. take the fork at the pizz joint to the right and we line up 20 yards down the road. If u miss the turn, there will be a diner on the right I think u can go through that lot to the staging area. The Map quest address puts you at the fork. If you go rte 1 becareful of all the construction as you near rte 35 in Woodbridge. They are widdening rte 1 and it is a mess..... |

replied on: 3/7/2007 9:14:55 AM Ray has maps up on the NJ Cruiser site on the forum. Gabe has a map with directions to the hall from the parade end at Rahway Ave and Green Street. Drive safe and be careful if coming into Woodbridge from rte 1, lot of road construction... |
