I do not necessarily agree with adding other car makes but its this "war" between clubs and organizations that is KILLING the PT. The PTOC is not the only club seeing a drop off in attendance and its not for DIRECTORS Trophy's. Get off that soap box already. I am friends with ALL PT Owners and attend Your shows and PTOC Shows and JoeBlows shows, I do not care. I enjoy the car show scene and will always. But this infighting is what is killing us. You sound like I did when I grew up in the Bronx and Hated people born in Brooklyn only because they were from Brooklyn. Even you must admit that the attendance at the GSC Shows is falling also. I think you saw that at Shore Thing last year. If we keep up this BS, we might as well shut it all down. If you were not upset at trophys, why are they always mentioned. As to my "disagreements" with some of you, its just because I hate to see this Family of ours continue to break up. As someone famous once said " Can't We all just get along" !! |

replied on: 3/27/2007 8:50:13 PM Jim, did you check the dates on this thread, it moved off topic way back in February, I thought that was a dead issue (much ado about 5 or 6 cars) but I am sure somebody will re-address it again now. Yes, ALL clubs have shown a decline in the past few years. Rising gas costs and hotel rates and a general "been there-done that" attitude is surely part of the problem I don't know if Shore Thing 6 was smaller than ST5 but it was definately smaller than it's earlier years. Yet almost every person that attended said it was the best Shore thing ever? With our club, it is not about numbers. I think I have said it berfore, I don't count cars at events and don't care if we have 4 or 400, as long as everyone has a good time. We are a non profit club so as long as we don't lose money on events, we'll just keep doing what we do. Jim, there is no infighting here. The club does not get involved with those forum warsl. They are silly and non-productive. As a director, I have communications with state and regional directors of the NE PTOC clubs as well as the PTCC people. We go to many PTOC, PTCC and Independent Club events. While I can't speak for any club other than ours, we do know how to play nice with everybody. |

Political BS is never evident at your events and they are run the right way. I hope that I continue to be welcome and plan on attending as many as I can My comments were based on the continuing bashing of another organization by a few vocal people. And comments about the types of cars invited so a few directors can win additional trophys is just plain uncalled for. Are we back in HS ? I am sorry if I brought this up again since the last post was 3/1 but quite honestly I am sick of the us vs them attitude. DAMM, It is just a car which has made some great friends of people that would never have met without owning the car. Now Its time for me to get off my Soapbox ! |

What i got was banned from the forums and somehow all my sub scriptions were lost. As were Lou Reeves. I know you, and how you are and i love your participation and your friendship. I directed all my comments to a director after a wild thing where 38 out of 45 trophys went ot directors and friends and workers. I was told to shut up if i didn't like it don't come So i don't. I hope ., knowing you and your wife you can change it. I love pt events and as John sain 4 or 400 lets have fun. i understand all the work and money you put into your car and can understand your point. But for us that don't hey we like the company..... |

I am just sad seeing all this fall apart and conflict. I mean there will always be car shows and I go to alot of NonPT Events but they are not as much fun and not even close as far as the interaction. Most of it is cut throat ! In fact Donna does not even go with me to most of them ! And I agree the PTOC proably made alot of errors. I know I was shocked a few times at Wild Thang about who got awards 3 years ago. But I know my wife and I know me and WE do not stand for that nor will we. I think they took steps last year to correct that and they are taking further steps this year ! Believe me when I say I get comments because I win alot. I have had people complain about me and even call people to find out If I am going to a show ! I go to have a good time and I LOVE MY CAR. I love showing it, especially to Kids and love giving them items from my treasure chest. I would still go to every PT Show if it had NO Trophys. I mean we go to a 2-3 day long show and the Car Show part of it is 4 hours. You know which event has been the largest for the last 2 years ? MAGGIE's and she gives everyone a Trophy. AND its in the middle of the Boon DOcks and people drive 6 hours to spend time with each other. THATS what this needs to become again because we will all be sad if it stops. Hope this LONG LONG Note explains my thoughts !! SEE Everyone soon ! |

Your both great people and I was personally glad to see donna get that involved because knowing you both you have the same opinion we do Its the people we go to see and I would go if there were no trophys also See ya soon |
