Mark29 Quote | Reply |	Difficult times ahead posted on: 7/4/2007 8:36:52 PM This isn't easy to do, but since I may not be at many more shows the rest of the year I want to let you guys know. A few weeks ago, Linda had a lumpectomy on her left breast and it turned out to be cancerous. The surgeon felt sure he got all of the mass, clean margins, so that was good. They need to go back in and biopsy 1 or 2 of the lymph nodes on that side to ensure it isn't in her lymph node system. Linda made the difficult decision to go with a double masectomy with reconstruction later. They'll do the masectomy at the same time as the biopsy, right now it's scheduled for July 18. 3-4 weeks after she heals from that, they'll begin chemo treatments. The frequency and total length of time will depend on the outcome of the biopsy. After that, the plastic surgeon will do reconstruction. Hopefully I'll see you at Smithville, it depends on how Linda is doing. After that, we'll just see how the chemo goes. This was all a surprise to us, particularly being as Linda isn't quite 40 yet. Seems like lately everybody has some kind of negative situation going on in their lives. My thoughts go out to you & Linda, and I pray that the doctors will do their very best to get Linda on the road to recovery, and to keep you strong through this so you can be at her side. I knew I would like the shows after that. I will pray for Linda and for you. I always love talking photography with you, and Linda is a very special lady. My mother went through the exact same procedure back in th 50's Now it"s so much better and with the reconstruction, wonderful. I KNOW you and Linda will be happy and your love will only grow from this. Gods speed

Mark29 Quote | Reply |	update... replied on: 7/19/2007 4:53:52 AM Just wanted to let you all know everything went ok with Linda's surgery yesterday. She went in around 2, was in recovery by 4. The surgeon said there were no complications. She was still pretty drowsy when I left last night, should be more alert today. I think it'll be Friday at the earliest before she is home. She should be back to work in 3-6 weeks, but then the chemo starts so we'll have a whole new set of challenges. Thank you all for your well wishes Mark
