It's official, no more PT Cruisers after the 2009 model year.

Chrysler is set to eliminate three slow-selling models, including the once-popular PT Cruiser hatchback, as part of a widening shake-up since its acquisition three months ago by Cerberus Capital Management, the private equity group.

After I read that article yesterday, I went on the web to see what was available now if I wanted to buy, "new," today in anticipation. Hardly anyone has new Cruisers on their lot. Where have they all gone? Has Chrysler already cut back on production so you have no choice in color or model? Bummmerrrr!!

Only an 8 year run, might add value to the ones we now own, especially the first year models and special models

So I guess my younger sister will be having the last laugh after all. I told her when she showed up at my house a few months after I bought my PT with a new HHR, that the HHR was a Wanna-be PT! I know she is going to asking me where the new PT's are when they stop selling them and the HHR's are still selling.

I bought the car for keeps, like I do all my cars. I owned my Jeep truck for 15 years 99000 miles and it served me well. I love the car and if they stop making them its fine with me. I don't expect to buy another car in my life time, so I will be leaving the Cruisers to my Grandkids to drive.....and the beat goes on....When the parades went past the house in Wbdge, we loved the old cars that were a part of history....

Nipper, I'm with you on keeping this car, I still kick myself for selling my first car when I was 17. 63' Impala!

Real dumb move on my part, but you know what they say, "you can't tell kids anything"! lol

Jim, first it was ALL, then just the Verts and now back to all PTs getting the axe. Although it is currently Chrysler's third best selling vehicle, it is also their oldest current platform. I don't think they can "upgrade" to a new platform without screwing it all up so they just decided to let it go.
