Just wondering what brand should I be looking at and what problems I might have with the install and the performance of my PT afterwards! Thanks |

replied on: 2/9/2008 8:40:32 AM Hey John, My experience is a little better pick-up. I have/had (sitting in box now) the Airaid system. Also you will hear the engine intake alot more, it gets louder. One other down side is the open air system will suck more engine (hot air) into your engine. If your looking for more free flowing air filter go with the K&M drop in filter, remove white reducer tube in the air box. I have the K&M set up in our conv. it got a little better pick-up now. Your welcome to borrow my AIRAID system if you's like. If you want to try out the system just let me know and we can meet up. |

replied on: 2/9/2008 12:24:10 PM Gary, you rock! That's what the club is all about, helping each other! From all I have heard about intakes on PTs, you get about the same performance/mileage gains from the drop-in as you do with the CAI. The drop in is a quieter and gives cooler air, the CAI is a lot louder and does not isolate heat from the engine compartment very well. |

replied on: 2/26/2008 5:26:16 PM Gary, Thanks for the tips, I read a few thing about installing the new air in-take...seems I have to make sure I install it in an area where it won't pull hot air from the engine! |

replied on: 2/26/2008 7:38:37 PM The Airaid basically blocks the "hot air" away. |
