Carrington of Smalley
posted on: 9/19/2003 7:06:03 PM

I am researching the Carrington family from c 1746 and I would be glad of any Smalley information that relates to the family or their connections.
I hope at some stage to set up a One Place Study of Smalley and in the meantime I would be happy to have any information on Smalley families and history. I have 'Footsteps through Smalley' and have had communication with Joyce Crofts, who has been very helpful.
Some day I hope to get to look at the Kerry material but that too may take a while.

We have just published a book on Smalley's Past. It contains an old picture of Carrington's Farm and the location of Carrington's Croft in the village, plus many more pictures of the Smalley area.

Details of the book are on the following web page (there is a link to its contents):-

Sorry it has taken a while to get back to you, I have been having log-in problems which is probably down to my anti-virus/spam program!
Thanks for the data, I have most of the marriages from Phillimore's, plus I had been going through the Smalley PRs on microfilm, at the nearest FHC, though have not got back there for nearly a year.

I don't have any of these obits. as I have only looked at Smalley so far. So, if you have any Carringtons from other parishes, that are of Smalley origin, I would be very grateful. Do you have the Smalley PR transcripts? or other PRs nearby?

I am hoping to get the basics of a Smalley One Place Study online some time this year, so I would be extemely grateful for anything you can offer!

Many thanks.
Patrisia

Thinking about it, this belongs in the family history section - hope you manage to find it once it is moved!

And now we have two topics on the Carringtons, so I'm going to close this one - for any additions, please see the other.
