They had 3 children at that time, John 11, Mary 7 and George 4. William was from Tiverton in Devon. I'd appreciate any info relating to their history. |

replied on: 11/2/2003 3:07:28 PM 1881 census reveals only 52 Purringtons in England and Wales. Mainly from Devon but 9 listed in Derbyshire, They comprise of 1 Family living at Pilsley Derbys Husband John born Devon and Wife Ann born with the 6 children at Pilsley.The lone Purrington is a George age 16 born Heanor(next to Codnor) Boarder Coal Miner The 1901 census reveals nill Purringtons in Derbyshire and only 33 in the country.
