| RMMee Moderator | Pop-up Adverts posted on: 4/18/2004 1:30:06 AM One member of the forum has told me that they suffer from those annoying pop-up adverts when visiting the forum. Is there anyone else who does? If so, please let me know. The main reason I chose to use Chatarea to host the Heanor History Forum was because it did not come with pop-ups, which I find infuriating myself. Yes, there are adverts on each page, but I can accept that since the service is free. I don't suffer pop-ups when visiting Chatarea myself, so assumed that everyone else was the same, but maybe not..... Pop-ups can often be caused by what is called "spyware" which has implanted itself on your system. There are ways to solve this (which need not cost you anything), but I'm not the best person to advise on this. |
