In order to do anything other than look at existing messages, you will have to "register" with Chatarea.com. This will give you access to all their message boards (though there aren't many others I can see that are that interesting!) Registering is free, and only takes a couple of minutes - you have to give them a valid e-mail address. Since I registered, I haven't noticed an increase in the amount of junk e-mail I get, so hopefully they are not into that game. Also, as you may have noticed, there is a bit of advertising on the site, but no pop-up adverts, so its far better than most. At the moment, the site is still new, and as a result there may not be much on it that interests you. If that is the case, just leave a single message and tick the box to get an e-mail when someone replies. Provided sufficient numbers of people use it, this sort of message board can get a lot of useful information. The site is moderated, and if any inappropriate language is used, it will be deleted as soon as possible. Many thanks for visiting, and I hope you find it of use. |

replied on: 12/2/2003 5:59:35 PM When I get the time, I'm trying to improve the overall feel of the site. Over the last month or so, I have changed the colour scheme, introduced more photos, and now introduced icons for things such as "new posts." When things do change, please let me know if you don't like them, or if you do. (Also today, hopefully, I have changed the time of updates to be in GMT) |

replied on: 2/27/2005 9:05:44 PM After ages and ages, today I have finally got round to backing up all the posts to the site. Unfortuately, there is no easy way of doing it, so I have been into every thread and saved it to disk. If, or when, the website fails (bearing in mind that we are just piggy-backing on an existing site, and I have no actual control over it), at least you can be sure that your posts have been retained for posterity! |
