I know what you mean, Samantha - running round in circles. I'm waiting till i get Dinah Hardy/Wraggs marriage certificate, sometime this week, hopefully. When i see her Father's name, things should become a little clearer for me?
I just hope the name isn't Esau. It's enough of a puzzle as it is now - Hardy - Wragg - Stirland? Surely enough is enough?

Hi,
On the 1851 census there's two Henry Fretwell's about the same age.
Fretwell,Henry,10,,2126,123,59
Fretwell,Henry,7,,2126,20,124

If he had a brother Enos this could be Henry's first marriage?

20 Oct 1874
Henry Fretwell* aged 21 Bachelor of Heanor occupation Miner father William Fretwell, Alice Caulton* aged 25 spinster of Heanor father George Caulton occupation Publican, wittnessed by Enos Fretwell* and Sarah Fretwell*

Thanks, Jenny.
Thankfully/Hopefully, this should be the Hardy group i'll be delving into when? Dinah's M.C. finally arrives here. I know Alfred and Kate are in another person's Tree i'm sharing with at Marlpool.
I hope it all pans out.

.................................................................THE Marriage Certificate..............................................................

The Registration District of Belper, Derbys. in the Parish of Heanor, at the Parish Church, after Banns, 07/09/1907.

Henry Hardy, aged 26, w. Miner, of Thorpes Rd; Heanor. Father - *Alfred* Hardy. Miner.

Dinah Wragg, aged 21, Spinster, of 174, Ray St; Heanor. Father - Edward Wragg, Deceased.

Witnesses - Enoch Gillott & Agnes Gillott.

Curate - C. H. Weller.
*****************************************************************************************
Henry's immediate Family, seems to be the following, provided by Jenny, 05/04/2005 with the 1861 Census, with a little bit of 'adding' needed?

Hardy, George, - G-Father, aged 44, Coal miner, Bn. 1817, Shipley.

Hardy, Harriet nee Clay, - G-Mother, aged 42, Bn. 1819, Heanor.

Hardy, Enoch, - Son, aged 18, Coal miner, Bn. 1843, Heanor.

Hardy, *Alfred*, - Son, aged 16, Coal miner, Bn. 1845, Heanor.

Hardy, Elizabeth, - Daughter, aged 15, Hose seamer, Bn. 1846, Heanor.

Hardy, Harriet, - Daughter, aged 8, Bn. 1853, Heanor.

Hardy, Mary, - Daughter, aged 6, Bn. 1855, Heanor.

Hardy, Esau, - Son, aged 4, Bn. 1857, Heanor.

Hardy, Kate, - Daughter, aged 1, Bn. 1860, Heanor.

Here's Esau, popping up again and there's still a bit of fixing to do, but it's a rough guide for the other related Hardy Families to see what developes along the line and if any 'swops' become available.

Hi, Jenny. The first section of Clays appear to be a close off-shoot to George Hardy's Wife.

Do you think they should have called ALL the Heanor area - Hardyville? But the 1871 Marlpool Hardys do come into the shared Family trees. Mary is a revelation to all, much better than simply logged as 'Unknown'. Someone's going to be thankful of that addition. Thanks.

Have you noticed any information on Dinah's deceased Father, Edward. I've searched through about most of the local area, but he doesn't show up yet on the 1891 Census. It's a Wragg desert completely in Eastwood. Not a one.

I was thinking about when he died and also if her Mother was deceased and the possible connection with the Ray St; Stirlands. If she was only a couple of years of age if that situation occurred - was she taken in/fostered by the Stirlands. I say this based on the fact that she does not show up on the 1901 Census. That may be a possible explanation?

Jenny.
Edward, - died 1887, does seem to fit the bill as Dinah's Father. She would have been aged around the 1 year of age mark at that time.
The 1881 Edward, also fits the age bracket as above. However, naturally!! the 11 year old Dinah doesn't, having been born too early for *Dinah* and also as well, that Dinah doesn't fit the Dinah Wragg, of Derby Rd; who died at the age of 14 in the early-mid 1890s. What a to do?
Will now try to gather dazed, spinning thoughts as to who was really who in the whole situation.
It's just that 1901 Census omission stumbling block which is the problem and the then following, 'maybe/could be' factual situation(s).
Anyway, Jenny. Thanks again. You've been a great help.

Just been reading through this section. So I thought I would have a look on my tree to see if any names appear.
I have a Amy Hardy who married John Froggatt, they had a son John who married one of my Lomax's Elizabeth (Betty), also I have a Ruth Clay who married Jeremiah Lomax, they had at lesat 8 children, before Ruth died in 1871.
Are they related to your people?

Hi, Elaine.
I don't think there's an absolute direct connection. Amy married John Froggatt/Forggett? - 04/10/1828.

A Ruth Clay, of Marlpool, is mentioned above, aged 6 in 1841 and 15 in 1851. She must have been aged 36, when she died in 1871. If this is the same Ruth?
