Any ideas as to what this may be from? Approx size 48 inches x 12 inches." Let me know if you have any ideas. |

A Garden Find
replied on: 3/17/2005 11:11:17 AM Don't say we have our own budding 'Oak Island' mystery, like the inscribed stone there? - or could it more probably be a water-pipe/gas pipe marker/indicator which was once connected to the former Nook End terraced houses and large rear open square which once stood there? A Garden Find
replied on: 3/18/2005 10:18:53 PM The stone's overall height now suggests it wasn't a water/gas-Main indicator, unless the bottom half was buried for the obligatory 2 feet in depth? Robert, can the finder detail the cut wording style on the stone, such as historical or resembling modern letters? At the moment it could proove interesting in a historical and other ways. Azzabuv. |
