1940's Syle Blitz V.E Ball & Dinner Dance Notts
posted on: 3/22/2005 1:28:01 PM

Forgive me if I post the following on the wrong thread:

Dear People of Heanor,

I am writing with regards a to an event we are hosting that you and your forum Members may be interested in attending.

We are hosting a ‘1940’s Wartime Blitz Ball Dinner Dance’ at Worksop Town Hall on the 3rd June 2005 to mark our British history and the occasion of the forthcoming V.E. Day. It’s a great full evening to dance and socialise!

Included in the evening is a live performance by a Professional Swing Vocalist backed by big band sounds including Glenn Miller. Included are also original sound and speech recordings from the war years and a few surprises too.

A traditional wartime style 2 course hot dinner is included in the evening.

The Town Hall will be decked out in genuine wartime style with banners and bunting and there will be plenty of space to dance and socialise.

Why not join us in this celebration of British history and step back in time to the 1940’s for one evening. It’s a chance to dress up and jitterbug away from the stresses and strains of modern day life!

Ticket price is £17.50 fully inclusive of live entertainment and wartime style meal. We are offering tickets at the reduced rate of £16.00 each should 10 or more people attend from your place of work/forum ( a great way to socialise for forum members!)friends/family etc. So why step back into the past for an evening filled with music, traditional style fayre, romance and memories.

Yours sincerely,

Tabitha for Kalamazoo Events UK

Kalamazoo

I've no objection to you posting this - in fact, for those interested in such things, it sounds like good fun!

However, I have deleted all the multiple references to the event - on a small forum like ours, one post is ample.

Hi,

RMMee - many thanks, no problem about deleting the other posts I though that they were read by people from other areas, my mistake, many apologies for that.

This seems like an awfully nice forum with lots of great people, so we do hope to see you swinging your thing on the eve of the 3rd June!

Cheerio for now,

Tabitha x

p.s 'commercial outfit' we are not we do it as it's our passion.

(Several posts have been deleted in a tidy-up, so this post may not make sense to new readers, but I've left it in for information.)

Just for the record, since I may have started all this but was away from the site while it was all blown up, I have absolutely no objection whatsoever to Kalamazoo, or anyone else, advertising something on here which may be genuinely of interest to readers (which this is). If someone advertises something which I consider inappropriate, I shall simply delete it without further comment!

I wish Kalamazoo well for their night's entertainment, which, as I said earlier, sounds great fun for those whom it would interest.

This subject is now closed!
