replied on: 2/23/2006 3:04:19 AM Suzard, Thomas is my 3rd great G/father. His son George married the girl next door but 1 - Elizabeth Meakin. What a tight knit bunch there. Since that takes that line back past the established records, hopefully there are church listings which will give me more details. Do they appear on any reachable web site that you know of? Sure appreciate all this help |

replied on: 2/23/2006 8:57:30 AM If the marriage of THOMAS BROUGH-Eliza Potter Mar 1874 Belper is your Thomas' 2nd marriage (as we suspect) it may be worth sending for marriage cert-you should get his fathers name from that. Maybe jENNIEPEG will find details of thst marriage? Here are a couple of possibilities GEORGE BROUGH b abt1779 died 1867 at langley Mill Occ F.W.k. possibly this is his baptism GEORGE BROUGH baptised 7 Mar 1779 at Denby son of Christopher/Hannah Brough WILLIAM BROUGH b abt 1791 died 1869 Langley Mill ABIGAIL bROUGH b abt 1796 died 1864 at langley Mill wife of William James Brough b. 1789 died 1863 Heanor |

replied on: 2/23/2006 9:18:49 PM My only Brough "connection" is not really a pleasant one -Thomas henry Brough (omnibus proprietor) of Burnthouse road was the driver of the car which accidentally knocked my Great Uncle frank off his pedal cycle as he cycled home from work in 1934 Uncle frank died almost instantly. It must have been a terrible time for Mr Brough too-he sold his bus company a couple of years after that.I have the newspaprer report if of any interest to you. I also knew a brough family from Queen st langley Mill-they had one son Peter-Mr Brough was an Inspector for the MGO bus company (1950's, 60's)- they were a lovely family |
