Yea-remember them-like a plastic cone with a switch on the side which activated a piece of thin metal-the ping pong flew in the air and you had to catch it

Ice, you mean you never had one of those toy fishing rods with a magnet on the end of the short 'line'? You lowered it into a bag of sorts, with a dozen or so assorted cardboard fish inside of it, with a small round magnate attached to their backs and see what you pulled out.
Excitement ALL the way - i think.........

The 3 inch Diver, who came complete with an air-line and a small rubber squeezy bulb. Watch him sink effortlessly to the bottom of the water-filled milk bottle by squeezing all the air out of the bulb via another short thin tube.
Gordon Bennet - the exciting minutes i passed with that little beauty...... Y A W N.................

A Games-Board Compendium set. Tiddly Winks, Snakes and Ladders Etc. COR.............
The ones you bought individually were a lot better materially and design-wise - just. I'm talking 7ish or so, here. The 'Snakes and Ladders' lasted a few months though.

A Kaleidoscope. It was really interesting to see the different patterns and their associated variable colourings. An excited shake of the tube and hey-presto. It was like looking at another World, at times.
Great entertaining fun.

The noisy 'Cap Bomb'. Place a cap on the lower inside of the 'bomb', twist the top on and hurl at the ground or a wall = (mostly) a nice, satisfying LOUD <crack/bang>.

The Howler/Wailer/Droner.
Punch a few holes in an empty tin, partially fill with soil or pebbles, grasp the yard-long Etc. string/wire 'handle' firmly and whirl it round and round above your head and spin round with it, till you collapsed in a dizzy heap on the floor.
The tin would make a variety of loud/soft sounds/noises according to its size, amount of holes in it plus amount of various infillings each time. It was a very energetic and tiring escapade. I was very glad when i got fed-up with that particular one.
