I don't know if they were still doing "fag" cards then, but PG Tips used to do their version of them n the 70's
But you don't see "fag" cards anymore-soon won't see fags anymore the way things are going

Has anyone mentioned M and B's, or is it Emmanbees? The cure-all pill frequently reached for by every mother when the kids were playing her up. And what about a 'tape of Aspro's'?
Then there was the lump of butter, or marg, that saved the NHS a fortune! A good-sized noggin plonked on a bump on the forehead wiped out any need for x-rays or visits to the doctor!

Does no-one remember M & Bs? I think you had to get them on perscription. I'm sure the tablets had a line down the middle and an initial either side of the line.

Flea cravats-for about 200 years from the fourteenth century onwards English ladies wore special fur collars. The accessory was designed to attract fleas thus luring them away from the rest of their clothing.

Lots of spent matches in the gutter- we used to spend days collecting them when we were kids-when we'd got a load we used to scrounge a potato, stick the spent matches in and make a hedgehog. We then had to leave it on the windowsill overnight for it to turn into a real live hedgehog. It always worked!!! Well at least the "hedgehog" had disappeared by morning-and Mum always saw it scuttling off to make a new home for itself!!!!!!!

when we found spent matches, we used to collect them and take em to the nearest steam and have races with them.

i'll tell you what you don't see anymore...good manners, people saying hello or good morning, people helping each other out when they're in trouble. too much back biting, violence and ignorance.violence caused by not enough discipline and too much alcohol, ignorance from ministers who are voted in to keep our way of life like we remember and don't.people who are determined to put other friends down behind their back when it's help they need.and selfishness springs to mind of the people today.hospitals run like the used to be run, police with enough resources to do the job and put more on the beat.so to put it bluntly, the past is gone along with kindness, talking and love.thats what we don't see anymore.and basicly that's why i started this thread.
hopefully a lot more people will think the same.

Too true Ice, doing the job I do I have to bite my bottom lip and remember that you have to nice to people before they are nice to you. The security industry is introducing licensing for all within the industry. I have recently completed a training session to get my license so that I can do my job. The course was in Conflict Management, this means fooling people into beleiving they have got the better of you.
