replied on: 7/10/2005 1:17:07 PM You just pipped me to it, Ice. Yes, i remember all those programs, especially Ivanhoe. Then there was 'Champion the Wonder-horse'. Then my Heroes 'Bill and Ben, the flower pot men'. Muffin the many thick-stringed mule. The 'Black Ace', the aerial Dick Barton. Lassie, the detective dog. Herewood the Wake. Lucille Ball (WOT?) Saturday Night Special - fore-runner of Jukebox Jury. The 6-5 Special. (Saturday nights). The Rowan and Martin Laughin - 1969. Does anyone remember the bloke (sometimes wearing a german soldier's helmet?) sitting on the park bench, trying to pick the woman with the handbag up (date) each week. Say "ello Azzabuv"................... "Neep...Kneedeep". Azzabuv. |

replied on: 7/10/2005 5:28:28 PM Doctor Kildare and his house-keeper Janet. A touch of the Scottish 1920/30s. 'Journey to the Bottom of the Sea'. An under-water Cap'n Kirk. The Flash Gordon versus Ming serial. How did we ever watch that? Ah, well, it was a beginning. The much hyped up 'Quaintermass Experiment'. It didn't seem to quite deliver what it promised. (ooopppsss - Just had a Trojan ATTACK. THE CRAP.........) - thank goodness Flash Gordon's around. Azzabuv. |

replied on: 7/10/2005 7:24:58 PM Absolutely nobody was in Robinson Crusoe - very low budget (foreign and dubbed - like the Singing Ring Tree - remember that?), but the music is unforgettable. My wife remembers it the same way. |
