replied on: 7/11/2005 8:58:10 PM 'Candid Camera', with good old Jonathan Routh. Who can forget the moving cars... without engines? and the many other genuinely laughable stunts, pulled on the unsuspecting public at large, by Jon and his expert team. This was a first class comedy show all round. Part of the team were Bob Monkhouse and Arthur Atkins. One of the best Candid Camera shows ever. The other similar series which eventually followed it over the years, were but pale comparisons of the original show. I wonder what happened to Jonathan Routh. He seemed to disappear from public view swiftly, once the show was over for good. Jonathan Routh, Bob Monkhouse and Arthur Atkins. The show ran from 1960 to 1967. Azzabuv. |

replied on: 7/13/2005 12:25:42 AM 'Boss Cat'. A program to relax to in the early evening, before going to the 'Salvation Army', at the top of Mount Street later on. 'His' introductory ditty - Boss Cat The most effectual Boss Cat Whose intellectual close friends got to call him BC/TC Providing it's with dignity Boss Cat The indisputable leader of the gang He's the Boss He's the VIP He's a championship He's the most tip top Boss Cat.....yes - he's the boss He's the King But above everything He's the most tip top...Boss Cat. The voices - Boss Cat - Arnold Stang. Benny the Ball - Maurice Gosfield. Choo Choo - Marvin Caplan. Spook/The Brain - Leo Delyon. Fancy-Fancy - Pierre - John Stephenson. Poor old Officer Dibble - Allan Jenkins. Goldie - Jean Vander Pyl. In America, Boss Cat was known as Top Cat, but because that name clashed with a branded pet food here, it was changed to Boss Cat. Poor old Officer Dibble! 1963. Azzabuv. |

replied on: 7/13/2005 12:41:36 PM 'The Cisco Kid' - The Mexican Robin Hood, ably assisted by his side-kick, Pancho. Good fun listening to Pancho's broken 'Spanglish', as it was called, along the lines of - "Pl-ee-s-e Ceesco...Let's went". A descent serious/comical Cowboy story. They DON'T make 'em like that any more........... The Cisco kid - Duncan Renaldo. Pancho - Leo Carillo. It was shown from 1954 to 1956. Azzabuv. |

replied on: 7/13/2005 1:04:38 PM 'Coronation Street'. I watched the first couple of years of the program, but after Minnie Caudwell died in the pub - of ALL places - i lost the heart to carry on. If anyone's interested in the full cast list, just drop a request. It began its TV life in 1960. Azzabuv. |
