replied on: 7/17/2005 5:10:30 PM Brod, my first Hero - all the way. Portly, but definitely keen with it. When he gave that staccato mumble..... it was action all the way. I almost wanted to be a detective. Who's Cindy? Chief Dan Matthews = the Brod = "Ten Four". The man who started that now World-wide, short, mumbled staccato. Fine actor. Aired from 1956 to 1960. Azzabuv. Ten Four. |

replied on: 7/17/2005 6:02:37 PM The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe was mainly show during the school summer holidays in the late 1960s - 1970s. It was a superb 13 part black and white adventure series based onthe book by Daniel Defoe. It first appeared on British TV back in 1965 on BBC1 and has Robert Hoffmann in the starring role. The ever haunting music that accompanied the series is never forgotten by those children who watched the series during the Summer school holiday breaks. Present here is the first episode of this adventure. starring Robert Hoffmann. there you are Robert...... ice |

replied on: 7/18/2005 4:24:42 AM I don't know where you got that quote about Robinson Crusoe from, Iceboy, but the comment about the music is perfectly correct. If I could play a musical instrument, I know that I would be able to play the tune perfectly from memory. But I can't! |

replied on: 7/18/2005 1:50:52 PM How about this, Ice - nice B&Ws? I'd watch these films, as and when they were repeated, for their Olde Worlde atmosphere and indepth stories. 'Dragonwhych'. A stirring, heart-wrenching love story in an old Mansion. From the 1930s. 'Wuthering Heights'. Cathy and Heathcliff. How i learned a boy, then a man, never cries, as Cathy scours the moors - in vain. Then there was the one where the boy was invited to the home of the vicious old woman and her young stuck-up neice. The old woman was jilted at her wedding reception and the meals were still there, on the wedding table, years later, cobwebs and all. Also such as, where the coach driver says "Barkus is willin". All well known in their catagory but can i remember the films names - not yet - again. Great films though. Azzabuv |

replied on: 7/18/2005 2:42:14 PM 'Dragnet' - "Ladies and gentlemen, the story you are about to see is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent". So opened every episode. Sgt, then later Lt Joe Friday - Jack Webb - ("Just the facts, Ma'am. I carry a badge. That's my job".) Sgt Ben Romero - Barton Yarborough, both ably assisted by a fine acting cast. 1952 to 1958.
