Ref the Gillott thread below,my GGrandfather was the Joseph (Miner) aged 36 on the 1881 census. His daughter Martha married Peter Booth. I am trying to trace his father WILLIAM Booth, who on the 1881 census was 36, a miner, born in Langley Mill.
I would welcome any info on his wife Harriet Somebody and/or his parents.

Many Thanks

Hi, Pacaine. At the moment i can't locate the ages/dates which you specify, but for the moment, there's an Alfreton marriage and a Heanor burial which may fit in somewhere. I couldn't locate William and Harriet Booth in Langley Mill - 1891 Census, but maybe they can be located elsewhere locally? There is a Joseph Booth, wife Mary and numerous Family members. If i can't do the location, other members may be more successful.

Alfreton Marriage.
George Booth, of Alfreton m. Harriet Fletcher, of Pentrich (lic.) - 23/04/1837.

Heanor Burial.
William Booth, aged 54, Bd. 16/12/1892. - Heanor St. Lawrence Church.

I noticed your post on Rootschat-all BMD's for Heanor/Langley mill would be registered in Basford District.
To find Williams parents put a look up request on Rootschat for 1851/61 census-Heanor area-Derbyshire.
Langley Mill (although postal address is Notts, most of it is in Derbys) comes on Heanor Census Derbyshire
Hope this is of some help

Hi Azzabuy,
Sorry I may have misled you. William was born in Langley Mill but in 1881 was residing at the Red Lion Yard, Heanor.

He may well have died in 1892 as there is no sign of him on the 1901 Census. I don't have access to 1891.
Thanks again

Thanks for the above. Looks like James John and Harriet were twins. My grandparents Peter and Martha (Gillott) were probably just married and living with(his)parents.
By 1901 Census they had moved to Rawmarsh in S. Yorkshire.
Any chance of finding them on 1851/1861 census as suggested above??

Thanks

Thanks for the information Sue. William was born in Langley Mill in 1845/6, so would he have appeared on your list of Heanor births?
His wife was born in Heanor and was about a year younger, so Harriet Allen looks favourite for further investigation.
Thanks again

Hope so:-) It looks likely that William, Sarah and John were siblings. William and Harriet's oldest child was born 1865ish so I need to search for their marriage around that time.

Thanks again
