I'm currently researching my wifes family history, and have found that her grandfather Wilfred Amos Noon died in the disaster at the Coppice colliery in 1943, i have seen the newspaper article but would like to find out more about this and the Noon family of Watkinson street heanor, they orginate from Horsely woodhouse, any help would be great.

Welcome to the site
You would probably get more response if you put this request on Family History Topics section-there is a thread already on Thornhill/ Noon/ Clay. I have some info on the Noon family-see you on the other section
