Does anyone know anything about the history of the farm and particularly the Purdy's that it relates to. My surname is the same spelling. My ancestors were in West Hallam,Ilkeston,Stanley Common, Heanor, Langley and Eastwood. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

The Farm is situated between A6007 - Heanor to Ilkeston road and the railway to the east.Algrave Hall farm is to the north and Poplars arm and Cotmanhay wood to the South east. replied on: 3/16/2006 7:04:22 PM If my memory is not playing tricks it must have vanished when the area was outcropped in the mid to late 50s. Long Lane that leads down to the Shipley Boat Inn (MFN), going downhill, had the right hand side dug out by Taylor Woodrow. regards Phil |
