Happy Christmas....
posted on: 12/24/2005 7:55:43 PM

.... to all our readers.

Heanor is no doubt tonight throbbing with late night revellers, and folk heading to church for midnight mass. (Let's hope the two groups don't meet!)

There's no snow (can anyone say when we last had a white Christmas?), but snow is forecast for the 27th!

To all those who have contributed over the last year, whether once or 100 times - many thanks. To all those many others who have read our articles - you're just as welcome, and just as important.

To date, 164 registered users have contributed to 4644 posts and 357615 page views.

I hope that 2006 will be just as successful for the site, for our main website, and for the Society as a whole. My fingers are crossed for a new Heritage Centre by this time next year.

But whatever happens, I wish you all the happiest of Christmases, and I hope that 2006 is as good as you would want it to be.

Happy Christmas....

Best wishes for Christmas to all. A special thank you to you Robert for making this space where all our 164 "family" and "friends" can join together.

Regards to all
Sue

P.S. Wish I was in Heanor - its 75 degrees here in Florida and it doesn't seem right to be so warm for Christmas even after all these years.

....and a Happy New Year
replied on: 1/1/2006 1:58:25 AM

I may not be the first person to wish you a happy new year, but its fairly early GMT, and I'm the first to mention it on here!

Here's hoping that 2006 will bring a flurry of new information from new contributors, as well as maintaining the excellent work of our existing members.

As your new year resolution, why not try to introduce at least one person to the forum? (Easier than trying to stop smoking/eating chocolate/etc.!)

All the best for the new year - looking forward to your next post.
