replied on: 2/6/2006 4:49:29 PM Don't have any info on the Stone family, but wondered if you were aware that Dunstead Road is in Langley Mill (but comes under Heanor census place).Noticed daughter May was born Langley Mill, so possibly she was born Dunstead Road. William Henry was a stove grate fitter -so possibly he moved to langley Mill to work at Pickersgill and Frosts (reopened 1895 moving from Derby)-see Ironworks topic on Langley Mill section. Lots of "possiblys" Sure someone will come up with info on the family for you-good Hunting! |

replied on: 2/6/2006 10:24:17 PM This may be of interest WILLIAM HENRY STONE married MARY ANN ANGELL derby district 1891 1881 census shows MARY ANN ANGELL living with her family at 11 Lower Carrington St Litchurch Derby and her brother WILLIAM ANGELL b. abt 1865 was a stove and grate fitter at that time. WILLIAM ANGELL can be found on 1901 census with wife LOUISA and family living in Heanor census district-sorry can't get more specific address than that. Seems like stove fitting was in the family and both families moved to same area! There is an Angell family topic in this section |

replied on: 2/16/2006 10:53:06 AM Thank you Jenny for that information. I always thought that there was a connection with that photo and W. H Stone; it ties in nicely in what I know about him. He was in the Army in the WW1, in the R. A. M. C. and stationed at the 15 General Hospital Egypt in 1916. |
