Stoneyford Tin Tabernacle
posted on: 7/5/2006 2:08:27 AM

There is some information about the Tin Tabernacle on the langley Mill and Aldercar section under the heading Stoneyford -but thought this would be of interest under Church/Chapel topic.
There is a memorial plaque for the Stoneyford men who fell in WW1
Arthur Darrington, Ernest Green, Arthur Hubball, Charles Longdon,
Joseph Shooter, Harold Sykes, Alfred Watson, which used to be inside the tin tabernacle at Stoneyford and is now in Christchurch Ironville.
There is a reconstruction of Stoneyford's tin tabernacle at the Golden Valley Railway Museum.

Is the tin tabernacle at the Midland Railway Centre the actual one that used to be at Stoneyford, do you know?

From the Midland Railway Centre site

====
St. Saviour's Church
The award winning "Tin Tabernacle" Victorian Church has been rescued from the railway village of Westhouses and is the latest building to be opened. It is also the first stage in our Victorian Street Scene. It is a delight to savour the atmosphere of this Church which has seen used for a number of services since its rebuild at the Centre.
