| Patrisia Quote | Reply | | Tom Carrington, Codnor and/or Heanor posted on: 10/27/2006 5:45:21 PM Can anyone place this Tom Carrington? He was married to Audrey and had a son Peter & a daughter Celia. He was a Heanor Councillor, probably at least 25-30 years ago, and I was told that there is a room dedicated to him in Heanor Town Hall. We are trying to connect him to the Smalley Carrington line; he might possibly be descended from Edward Carrington, c 1830. Any ideas? |

replied on: 10/27/2006 8:35:49 PM The late Tom Carrington was a well respected Schoolteacher, local councillor and football referee. He lived at Codnor during his later years. His daughter Celia (Cox) is a councillor on Amber Valley Borough Council, and you could contact her at its headquarters at The Town Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire. Celia was married to the late Ian Cox who was leader of the Borough Council for many years, and has a room named after him in Heanor Town Hall. |
