Looking for Nellie Rigby (Pardner) nee Brown
posted on: 11/22/2006 2:33:48 PM

I am trying to find Nellie Brown dob. 14-4-1922, who is the daughter of the late Thomas and Fanny Brown (nee Meakin) of 6 Grammer Street, Denby Village. Thomas worked in Ormonde Pit. In 1941 she married Harry Pardner, but their marriage only lasted about 2 years, and she came to live in Blackpool about 1947. They later divorced and in 1951 she married Kenneth Rigby.
She returned to Derby, and in the 60's, used to frequent the Robin Pub in Marlpool, and worked at Fords in Heanor. I believe she was still known as Nellie Rigby at that time. In the late 60's Thomas and Fanny Brown moved to Roper Avenue, Marlpool, and Fanny's brother, Frank Meakin lived a few doors away, also on Roper Avenue. I have checked the death and marriage records to the end of 2004, and can find no record of a re-marriage or a death.
I believe that she still alive and is still known as Nellie Rigby, and is in the Heanor/Ripley/Marlpool/Langley area.
Any information will be gratefully received.
Thanks, Sue
Sue R
