Travelling families in the area?
posted on: 12/20/2006 5:58:57 PM

Hi,
Just wondering if there were any travelling families that settled around the Heanor area from 1600 onwards? If anyone knows of any particular locations or surnames of people please get in touch.
Many thanks.

What exactly do you mean by Travelling Families? Can you be a bit more specific?

Thanks

I don't know if this is of any help.
There was a family lived on a piece of land at the back of the Charles Napier at Aldercar round about 1952/1955.One of the son's, Tony Smith was in our class at Langley Mill Boy's School. I used to deliver newspapers to the caravans, at first I was a little bit wary but when I got to know them they were very friendly people.
