I wonder if anyone has any idea when it was there. Or how i can find out when? |

If it can, then I'd like to mention Carole's Hairfashions which was opposite the cricket ground on Station Road prior to the present one (I think it's LJs or something similar now) My mum used to wash hair there when the regular hairwasher Sylvia (and I'm sure all those who live in Langley Mill will remember her/still know her!) was ill or on holiday. I used to spend countless hours there in the school holidays tidying out the rollers, making tea and sweeping up! Occasionally if I was lucky I had my hair cut there too! My mum and Carole were great friends and sometimes when we went out shopping on a Wednesday afternoon (when the salon was closed) we'd go to Pompador to buy supplies! |

replied on: 1/16/2007 12:15:52 AM Robert, I don't know if it was called James Dean-but the hairdressers was at that address in 1967 -I can be so precise as I went there to have my hair done for a special event! It was mainly a ladies hairdressers, but they did cut mens hair (if they were brave enough to sit with the ladies!)
