replied on: 9/3/2007 4:09:59 PM The picture of the Man in Space sign is one of a series of pub signs shown in a sequence to suggest the bus travelling back from Brighton is stopping off at them for "refreshment". The only pub shown is the "Red Lion" in Iver, about 2 miles from Pinewood Studios where the film was shot. Wesley |

replied on: 9/3/2007 10:14:57 PM Was definitely built by summer 1970 as I was going out with a boy who lived on Newthorpe Common then and it was brand new. I think one of my great greats used to keep a pub on Newthorpe Common but stories differ as to whether it was the New Inn halfway down Newthorpe Common or further up the hill the Raglan Arms. Would be someone Smith I think. |
