I will also include local information and I'd welcome any additions/corrections. The Langley Mill/Lacey Fields sections will be the biggest as thats where Ive taken most photos along the route, hopefully there will be much of interest even if railways dont grab you. |

replied on: 8/14/2007 8:26:39 AM Hello Russel, The site has noe been added to my favourites. I am residing the other side of Mansfield. My place and nature of my employment allow to monitor the Robin Hood Line movements. To be precise I am based on Coxmoor Road, about 100 yds from the level crossing. The coal traffic on the line has almost died a death. I have not seen any coal traffic this year but sightings have been reported. It took a couple of years to do but I have managed to see 66001 to 66250 inclusive pass along the line. Is there much coal freight running on the Erewash now ? I live not too far from both Welbeck and Thoresby pits. I suspect the coal is moved from those via the ECML at Newark. regards Phil |

replied on: 10/31/2007 10:45:54 PM I've updated this with some shots taken in the very snowy winter of 1979-remember the six foot drifts along the Stoneyford road? 1981/2 was another very bad winter and 1985/5, 1986/7. Since then-nothing! Also a shot of the sidings at Langley Mill showing Aristoc buildings. Amazing to see the changes nowadays, nobody would guess it was the same place if they stood there now. Ive appealed on the site but has anyone got any shots of the pit line from Ormonde to Langley which closd in 1970? |

replied on: 11/1/2007 8:22:49 AM Russell Somewhere I have a copy of an old photo of a train travelling from (or to) the main line at Milnhay towards (or away from) Heanor. Is this the line you mean? Any chance of the Society using some of your photos if the right occasion comes along? Robert |

replied on: 11/11/2007 6:55:38 PM Yes. Depends how old it is as to whether its the locos I'm after but yes, thats the line. No problem with using any of my shots, I have a few general ones of the area too though mainly railways. |
