Wonderful Names from the past
replied on: 12/31/2007 7:39:22 PM Hi Jenks, There may be a connection with my Bacons and the Pentrich Revolution, but the generation of Bacons prior to my 'married- in', Joseph Bacon b.1827 (including his father) were from South Normanton. There is a link with Pentrich and the Bacons however, in that Joseph married Sarah Pepperday who was baptised at the non-conformist chapel at Pentrich, as was her grandfather Joseph Slack, whose family de-camped en masse from Heanor and Codnor to be baptised there. I will look further into a possible connection when time permits |

replied on: 12/31/2007 7:49:29 PM Following on from my last post (and the accidental duplicate one !!), I found another wonderful name in my family tree, although from a little way outside our area. She was a lady by the name of SILENCE BACON. Born South Normanton 1884. |
