Buffaloism at Heanor
A new lodge connected with the order of the Royal Anteluvian order of buffaloes was opened on Saturday at the Ray’s Arms Hotel Grand Lodge officers from the Chaworth Lodge, Middleton Lodge, Queen of Valley Lodge, Lady Agnes Lodge, Midland Crescent Lodge and Erewash Valley Lodge.

There were meetings of the Buffalos at the Rays Arms either mid to late 1970's or early 80's. They would have had their meetings either Friday or Saturday evenings in an upstairs room. I remember hearing them, it sounded like they used to gallop accross the room at the end of each meeting. Of course we were never able to find out anything about them as we were mere women!
