1906 1st June H/ O, The rector engaged to the Hon. Mrs Murrey Robinson, Quite a genuine excitement was created in the parish by the announcement that the rector had became engaged to the Hon. Mrs Murrey Robinson, who by her kindness and good nature, has won all hearts in Heanor. Mrs Murrey Robinson is the daughter of the late Lord Inver Clyde (the head of the great Cunard Line of Merchant Steamers) who was so well known for his goodness and philanthropy her brother, the late Lord Inverclyde by his prompt and patriotic action a few years ago, saved the whole merchant shipping power of England from being bought up by the American millionaires. His action virtually saved our country from a disaster greater than any great naval defeat in battle the father of the first Baron, Sir George Burns, was the first to carry the Atlantic mail by steamers. The present Lord Inver Clyde (also Mrs Murrey Robinson’s brother) is also an active and able nobleman, The church bells rang out a merry peal on Sunday evening, when our rector’s good fortune was known, and every person in the parish seems bent in congratulating him. His future wife from her deep piety combined with energetic goodness and powers of influencing others for a good is a model clergyman’s wife and will, we feel sure, receive a great welcome when she comes to Heanor.
