I can remember my Mom taking me there but I cant picture in my mind exactly where it was located. I think somewhere between Hands Rd and the Park. Anybody refresh my memory.... Hadnt thought about that in years. |

replied on: 3/17/2009 12:47:56 AM actually in the park where kelvin grove is now i think..the pool used to start near the path that went onto hands road and stretch back up to kelvin grove..the lawn used go right up to the house at the back. |

replied on: 3/17/2009 11:42:33 AM I used to love going to the paddling pool, must have opened in the late 50's. As we know summers were always long and hot back then!! At its deepest part it was only about 12" deep. The real skill was diving in,(belly flops not allowed) and not coming up with a raw nose. Can't remember a path going down to Hands Road back then, just a field. It was a bit daring to use it as a short cut, to get to Langley Baths. Jenks |

replied on: 3/17/2009 4:45:39 PM I'm glad you said that, Jenny -lols as I'm sure a paddling pool was still there only a few months back, just a different shape and smaller. I can remember the old one though, during early and mid 60s when I went as a kid. I can also remember taking my own up there. |

replied on: 3/19/2009 1:36:55 PM I think that it's probably a case of everyone being right. The old paddling pool was rectangler shape in roughly the same area. If you google it you'll find a picture c1960. The present one is figure of eight shape, so the old one must have been filled in at some time. Jenks |
