The Arab Inn, Langley
replied on: 1/4/2005 4:11:28 PM

I used to live on Kew Crescent - opposite where the Arab was - between 1947 and 1966. Where the Arab had been there was waste land, and on this was a chip shop in a sort of tin hut if I remember correctly! That would have been in the late forties/ early fifties. The post office was higher up Breach Road, on the corner of Clara Mount Road, where Marlpool Boys School was. In the early fifties, practically no-one had a car, and the queue for the E8/A8 bus which turned in Kew Crescent seemed to stretch forever!
