Carrington of Smalley

Your last message explains things - I was thinking of Robert Turton, who produced 'Pictures of Smalley'.
We are are going to have to ask them to identify themselves differently or my senior brain will get even more addled!
It was Robert I was in communication with, there was a Mary Carrington/Oldknow/Turton connection that we discussed.
I have replied to Robin, as you say, I'm sure we can fill in lots of gaps.
Incidentally, although not related directly to Smalley, I now have confirmation of the ancestry of Mary Anne Carrington nee Tyrrell, born Boddicote c 1816, d Smalley 1889

Looking forward to hearing from all of you and I have just writen to Tony.
