East View Terrace
replied on: 2/22/2005 1:29:48 PM I remember it well, lived from there 1950 to 1954. Second one from far end either 11 or 13. W alays used to call it Gas Tank Avenue. Family living at No 3 had a parrot which used to be put outside on it's perch if the weather was sunny. The house had gas lighting and the tin tub in front if kitchen grate, the black leaded sort. I was born in 1950. My father used to work at G R Turners with the beer off just below the main gate. The picture of 5 workers outside the beer off emptying pint glasses will always be with me. |
