No, but I have a similar teaser.

In the 1871 census, and not in any of the other censuses, there is a George Clarke 42 years old, born @ Codnor), who is a farmer and publican at the Horse and Groom, Crowfields (which was towards Stoneyford). Can anyone help with that one? (Is anyone able to search the 1861/1881 census for Mr Clarke? Pity its a common name!)

I take it that the Boat Inn is listed in the 1876 Directory as well?

Intriguing isn't it!
