When the family lived at Marlpool we usually went to the Cosy. I think that this was down to the type of film shown. The films used to be more of the family/adventure type. A mid 50s Robin Hood one springs to mind with me and our youth sword fighting down the stairs from the balcony. Dad must have had a wage that Friday. The Cosy always to me seemed a bit more up market than the Empire.
