Train Spotting
replied on: 4/25/2005 4:59:38 PM

I remember a friend in the 1950's who was an ardent trainspotter. He used to go onto Langley Mill rec at certain times of the day, stand at the top of the slide or on the kissing gate to get the number of certain regular trains.I could never see the point in train spotting-but then I used to collect car numbers (just as useless). I used to sit on Cromford Road with my note pad and pencil-you had time to write down the car number, colour, number of occupants, what they were wearing and eat a bag of Nibbets before the next car came along!
