Prisoner of War Camps
replied on: 5/27/2005 2:04:00 PM

Following on from Azzabuv's question, the only prisoner of war camp I know about in the area was at Swanwick Hayes, from where the "one that got away" at one time got away, only to be recaptured at Hucknall Aerodrome.

I know that after he escaped, Vic Hallam's at Langley Mill sent some men over (including my dad) to help do some repairs to the camp.

But were there other PoW camps in the area, or camps for internees?
