Robey Fields Farm.
replied on: 6/9/2005 6:32:32 PM

Robin Turton has asked me about this and I don't have it in my data store - for store read bits of paper and docs I have usually mis-filed! <g>

He has a DAY family there in the late 1890s/early 1900s, not that I think any of your memories go back that far but.....

We know that the Carrington Farm had been known as the Robey Pits Farm but it is unlikely to be that, as Richard Carrington, followed by Walker Martin were there up to the 1900s.

But is the 'Robey' a clue? Could it have been in the area of the Robey Pits?

As always, any contributions gratefully accepted.
