Things you dont see anymore

Recall those when we lived in the Milnhay Council Houses built 1936/37 Mantles could be purchased from the good old Co-op and i recall Miss Parkers Shop top of Elnor Street still stocked them for people who had not converted to Electricity in 1960.They were very delicate and easily broken.The Street Lamps where also gas in the 40s not used during the blackout of course but dont remember anyone switching them on or turning them up after the War
